Terms of Use
Last updated: 21 October 2026. By using iWeiba, you agree to these terms.
The service
iWeiba provides free, informational suggestions for Chinese names, name checks, pronunciation notes, and downloadable keepsakes. The service is provided as-is. We do not guarantee that a name is available, unique, legally registrable, or suitable for a particular purpose.
No official documents
Share cards, posters, and certificates are souvenirs. They are not official certificates, identity documents, name registrations, or legal records. Do not present them as such.
Cultural and linguistic limits
Our corpus and checks are curated and incomplete. We do not cover every dialect, every homophone, every celebrity, or every trademark. A name that passes our checks can still be unsuitable in a particular family, region, or workplace. Ask a native speaker before using a name on official documents.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to harass, impersonate, or mislead; do not attempt to break the service, scrape it at scale, or use it to generate content that violates the law. We may limit requests to protect the service.
Intellectual property
The site design, editorial text, and data compilation are ours or used with permission. Classical texts are in the public domain. You may share your own result and keepsake. Do not copy the library at scale or resell the service without permission.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, iWeiba is not liable for decisions made using the service, including the choice of a name or the use of a keepsake. The service is free; use your own judgment and consult a qualified professional where necessary.
